‘ Remembering The Moment Clearly.”
I
REMEMBER THE MOMENT CLEARLY it was like someone popped a bubble in my brain and a huge idea burst into my consciousness! I was sitting in the chiropractor’ s office when the gears in my mind kicked into overdrive and my imagination shifted into action. I was onto something that would be the beginning of a revolution
in promotional video marketing. That moment was the birth of Vauntify. Let’ s back up. My husband Bobby and I run a boutique film and video production company called ArcLight Pictures, and we specialize in‘ promotional marketing commercials for the small business owner’ in Tucson, AZ.
At the time of this eventful chiropractic appointment, we were the belle of the ball and businesses really wanted to take us for a spin on the dance floor. ArcLight was experiencing great success, but in the end we were still trading dollars for time. Production work is mentally and physically taxing, and it was just the two of us.
That March I joined my first mastermind group, run by
Monique Alvarez, and this was where the Vauntify seed was planted. During one of the sessions Monique allowed Bobby to join in, which led to a difficult realization: he was exhausted, stressed and unhappy. Their conversation continued via text, and she pushed him to face that discomfort.
When he shared the conversation with me, I was livid! He wasn’ t telling her the truth! ArcLight was what he wanted! He pushed me to work it as our sole income! I felt betrayed, but as soon as I removed my personal feelings from the situation, I realized she was right and I was grateful that he was finally able to tell me the truth.
Bobby and I share a unique relationship. He is not only my husband but also my best friend, business partner and film colleague, and I would walk through fire for him. So, the realization that he was not happy broke my heart and, being a woman of action, I had to fix the problem.
I considered how, when networking for ArcLight, we would find ourselves consulting with business folks who just could not afford our services. We tried running specials and even dropping our prices. Still we remained outside of their
