THE REAL ESTATE OF YOUR BUSINESS .

by Carol Lowcock

I was raised in the small community of Harvey , close to Bunbury , with good , solid community values , where my connectedness with my environment came from my local school , my

sporting pursuits and my family ’ s interaction with the community .
The feel that I got from my surroundings was based on respect and the heart centred approach that the local ’ s businesses had for their customers . There was that invisible piece of string that tied the community together . Listening and talking , understanding what the customer wanted , was always evident . It obviously had an impact on me as I reflect about my current role as a representative with an independent realestate company , that I now work as a home based business .
I haven ’ t always been in realestate . It actually found me quite by accident , when another well-known realestate agent recognised my networking skills at a local school art auction and invited me to connect further with him . I would not have thought that helping a friend promote art would lead me to a home based realestate business , let alone the solo representative for my company in my region ! Being open to personal growth , the connection was made . experiences living in Perth , the Pilbara , the Kimberley and mid-west regions of WA , this came naturally with a wide demographic . The relationships formed through building trust , respect , being transparent with strong ethics are the foundation of who I am , which is reflected through my business .
Connecting with SLP , ( Sell Lease Property ) Realestate , a Western Australian company , which started from humble beginnings in Perth with a platform model , different to traditional realestate , has allowed me to balance family , life and leisure into the mix . Being able to build my home business nationally and internationally from home has given me more flexibility with less overheads and that I have not previously experienced , so at the end of the day my family , my clients and I benefit .
My present company aligns with my family values , so being able to meet clients on a more flexible timetable has helped build some great connections . This means that I have the time to listen … and I receive great satisfaction when I have met my client ’ s needs . I have often thought myself similar to that of a confidant , as buying a property is a very real and emotional experience for many people . I love this part of my profession .
The Bunbury region is a beautiful place to live in and provides my husband , Brett and our three children the opportunity to interact in sporting and community groups , developing relationships and giving back . Bunbury and surrounds is evolving with new industry , small business development , community projects , beautification of public spaces , entertainment and many other facilities , which will bring many people to this region .
