women who have ' felt the fear, and did it anyway.’ I didn ' t do this to make connections. I did it to find answers. And I use those answers with my clients on a regular basis, reminding them that they are good enough, even if things sometimes slip through the cracks. We have to give ourselves permission to try things, fail, get back up, and keep going. That’ s what I did, and that’ s what I’ m still doing.
For me, being a virtual assistant is about more than just taking on a slew of tasks. It ' s about getting to know the heart and vision of the business owner, understanding their mission, and clearing the path for them to reach that vision by taking on the tasks they find tedious, bridging their gaps, and allowing them to better allocate their time and creativity.
I tackle the details, while my clients continue to craft their vision.
Finding My Sweet Spot. As my journey continues, I see now that I was born to work with mission-driven entrepreneurs who have big plans and big hearts. We work together to create systems and processes that bring them ease and flow. Learning how to create that flow in business has even translated into a flow at home, as my clients have taught me how to see my own big picture as well as the pieces.
I still focus on the details( oh, how I love my planner), and structure is still my place of comfort( meal plans are my saving grace). But I ' ve learned how to use these skills to create opportunities for spontaneity, to give us the freedom to enjoy beautiful and simple experiences, and to nurture the intimacy within our family which lay neglected while I was trapped in the box the world had built for me.
I don’ t need that box. I don’ t need someone else’ s guidelines. I’ m living my dream now. And even when I stumble or struggle, all I have to do is reflect on the weight of that $ 35 check, and I know I’ m in the right place.
