MARKETING DEPARTMENT
The Marketing Department, headed up by VP for Enrollment and Marketing, Dr. Cynthia Boyd,
and spearheaded by Shelly Batcher, Director of Marketing, is a tight-knit group of eight unique
individuals who make it their goal to continually “shine the bright light” on LIFE.
Our team pools talent from across the country and across a broad spectrum of specialties. Many
of you already know Craig Dekshenieks, Director of Communications; Maddisen Petitta, Marketing
Project Coordinator; and Brenda Boone, Director of Special Events. 2013 saw the addition of three
new faces to our crew: Jennifer Cherof , Marketing Project Coordinator; Matthew Shaul, Web
Development; and William Brooks, Communications Coordinator & Copy Editor.
Together we provide the creative energy and expertise to produce innovative flyers, videos,
graphics, events, copy and content for almost every department at Life University. The shear
number of projects we churn out in a year is astonishing. In 2011-2012, our team facilitated 889
different assignments. With four people at that time, 889 projects; pretty astounding, right?
How do we do it? It’s simple. We love what we do. We put in long hours, work weekends and
sometimes stay up all hours of the night to get a job done right, yet we still think we’re having more
fun than anyone else on campus! Why? We love making Life University look good.
Though we admittedly have a passion for
our tasks, and genuinely get a thrill when the
light shines its brightest on LIFE, we take our
jobs very seriously. We are 100% committed
to protecting the LIFE brand and driving
Life University’s mission, vision and projects
forward. We work across a wide spectrum of
departments, audiences and constituencies to
help increase enrollment; garner support for
the University’s initiatives; and articulate and
communicate LIFE’s position as a world-class
thought-leader.
Keeping the light shining bright on every LIFE initiative isn’t always as easy as we make it look. To
that end, we’ve developed a new website to answer commonly asked questions and to manage
project requests. At www.LIFE.edu/Marketing you’ll find:
• Easy-to-use guidelines and policies detailing the official LIFE style and brand
• Downloadable documents, graphics, logos, pictures, etc. for use in official University
promotional and informational materials
• Instructions for how to request photography, video and print materials
• And the best part – a submission portal for all your requests
This new submission portal allows us a higher level of quality control, greater efficiency, and most
importantly, more accurate project management. It enables us to handle your needs in a more
timely manner, and even allows you to track the progress of your request. It’s a win-win – both for
you and for the Marketing Department!
We may be streamlining our process, but nothing beats talking face-to-face. So please, don’t let
the simplicity of our new website dissuade you from stopping by and visiting us in person. We’re
in the process of Goggle-izing our new digs in the old police building and are anxious to get your
feedback. COME ON OVER – WE’LL KEEP THE LIGHT ON!
