University is a great option for students who are passionate about a certain subject and want to learn more about it . There are around a 150 universities in the United Kingdom and they offer a wide variety of courses and different ways of teaching and learning . Attending university is not just about sitting in a library , surrounded by stacks of books and studying the theory of everything . That can be part of what you do , but there are also lots of courses out there that offer a practical approach to learning . You could help to make new discoveries to combat climate change , go on archaeological digs in faraway countries to uncover the secrets of the past or work in a hospital , learning how to save people ’ s lives . There are also lots of career paths that are only open to graduates , for example , you want to be a doctor , a vet , a teacher or a lawyer then university is the only way for you to reach your goal .

“ I would suggest you are sure about what you want to do before you come . The most enjoyable aspect , for me , has been to meet a lot of great people which I will probably know for the rest of my life . You meet inspiring people whether it be lecturers , clinicians and different people who you learn from . It ’ s a fulfilling experience which makes you more complete . For me personally , I would say that university has been the best part of life so far , so I wouldn ’ t have missed out on it .”
