Dumb Kisumu Hawker Arrested After Presenting Fake Million Dollar Bill in a Bank
Mr Wafula had retrieved the fake bill from his merchandise. The Kibuye Market trader was turned down by the first bank before he tried his luck on the next bank.
Mr Wafula’ s windfall would have been equivalent to nearly Ksh100 million.
Confirming the incident, Kisumu County Police Commander Titus Yoma said the suspect who was held at Kisumu Central police was oblivious of the fact the piece of paper in hand was worthless.
No sooner had a 40-year-old trader thought his life had changed than his rags to riches dream was quashed on Thursday after a local bank called the police on him for‘ attempted fraud’.
Simon Wafula, a mitumba clothes dealer in Kisumu, was arrested after presenting a‘ fake million dollar bill’ to the forex section of a Kisumu bank, Citizen reports.
“ He went to one bank and asked if it could be converted to Kenyan money but was informed that it wasn’ t real. He decided to inquire in another bank,” said Yoma.
“ The piece of paper looks like a dollar note on one side but on the other side, it has what looks like church announcements printed. He was reported by the second bank,” he added.
The man was later released since no charges could be pressed against him.
Horrified mum finds headless bodies of her three children after gang attacks and beheads them
A
mother claims her three children were ambushed and beheaded by a gang who stole their heads as they fled.
The woman said her children- aged six, eight and 10- were playing in a stream and were taking buckets of water home when a group of men approached them.
They were set upon and tried to fight the gang- but were killed and executed.
Their mother Cecilia Emberga Agammbuee, from Taraba State, Nigeria, told how she found her children’ s headless bodies in“ horrifying” scenes.
The mother said:“ When they finished swimming, they decided to fetch water with their buckets for use at home.
On their homeward journey, two men
Cecilia Emberga Agammbuee suddenly emerged from a farm and grabbed one of my three children in the group by the neck.
While the other children in the group threw away the buckets of water and ran for their dear lives, my two other children decided to fight to rescue their sibling.
The escaped children brought the news home. Immediately, my husband, fellow villagers and I ran to the scene of the attack where we found the headless bodies of the three children in the pool of their blood. It was horrifying.
When I saw their headless bodies, I thought I would die.”
The mother now has just one child left, as she said it“ shows how dangerous the country is”.
