I entered the restaurant around seven o’clock, during their busy supper time hours. I checked out my surroundings, everything was dimly lit, but in a good way. It created a sense of romanticism, in this old historic building. It felt elegant, yet a certain type of cozy. There was a cooling breeze flowing through a few open doors/windows, which gave it even more of an old time elegant feeling.
A rather chipper young fellow of a waiter, who promptly seated my friend and me, greeted us. He told us the specials right off the bat, knowing exactly what they were serving. I however, was not interested in the specials, I was interested in having their highly acclaimed new york strip steak with a crisp side salad, and a perfectly baked potato (with all of the accommodations of course). My friend ordered the same thing as I, except he ordered mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato.
Our drinks arrived at our table promptly, two citrus waters, and shortly after our meal arrived. During our wait, a small live band lulled us, it consisted of a violinist, a guitarist, and a cellist. The music was just right for the surroundings, it wasn’t too loud nor was it inaudible. Then our food arrived, in a timely fashion I might add. The aroma was mouth watering, and tantalizing. My friend and I said our thank-yous to the waiter, and then proceeded to take our first few bites of our steaks.
