Short Story

The Island

The fastest runner in the world was in the airport waiting to board the airplane to go to the 2016 Summer Olympics. He was talking to some of his fellow track runners that were boarding the plane with him about the metals that they earned in the last Olympics and their times. They were also discussing the competition for this year’s Olympics.

Some time passed and over the intercom they heard their plane called to start boarding. The Olympians were all seated in first class next to each other. Over the plane they heard to buckle their seatbelts because they were taking off. Once they got into the air they were told they could unbuckle their seatbelts and the staff started asking if they wanted any food or anything to drink they got some water and some more time passed and they woke up to sirens and the airline staff telling every one to calm down and as they were talking they saw the fasten seatbelt light to come on and out of fear they put their seatbelts on and heard a flight attendant yell that we are going down and that they needed to stay calm and right after that he told the lady to sit down and buckle up and she did but right after she buckled her seatbelt they felt a jolt and heard a crashing noise and then they blacked out.

When he regained consciousness he was lying on the beach and heard screaming and moaning coming from some of the survivors. When he got up and was able to walk around he noticed parts of the plane strewn all over the beach then he saw dead bodies everywhere some in the water and some on the beach. Then he began to panic were is the first class part of the plane and where were his fellow Olympian that were sitting right next to him. He began walking around and with a sigh of relief he found his friends. They continued to help because there happened to be a doctor on the plane and they helped him mend wounds and check for survivors. The coach part of the plane was still intact and they went in to find stuff that they could use. But then they heard this weird noise and trees start moving from the jungle and then a scream and then silence fell over them again and every thing was quiet. Once they got supplies rounded up they noticed the sun was about to set and almost all of the survivors didn’t know anything about surviving something like this but one did. He told every on that they needed to find some matches some dry wood or anything that they could use to burn. They were lucky because on the plane they had managed to find some knives and survival gear. And in the survival gear was matches so they took that and proceeded to get some clothing and they found a pool of gas on the ground that they dipped it in and used a water bottle to fill it with the gas so they could use it later and just as they started the fire night fell.
