In Memory of Rob Duffiels.

I met Rob through the Anchor Point forum, where he was known as “Mozhunter”. He was always looking at ways to help LCA. When I saw him in September 2013, it was the last thing he was talking about before we left.

Rob contracted malaria in Mozambique where he worked as a PH for Lemetzi Safari. He spent 2 months in ICU. After returning home, he was in and out of hospital with numerous complications, but through all the setbacks he stayed positive and strong in his believes as a Christian.

Behind every good man is a great woman! These are words that came to mind when describing Gail, Rob’s wife. In all our conversations and sms’s, she was always humble and positive irrespective of Rob’s condition.

In the last conversation with him sharing hunting stories with me and my boy, it was clear that he had a deep love for the bush and the animals. He also shared how he went to a church of one of his trackers and where he, on more than one occasion, led the sermon.

It was thus with great sadness that we received a phone call from Rob’s daughter , Tracy, the week before Christmas in 2013, informing us that Rob passed away.

Our condolences go out to his wife Gail, son Warren, daughter Tracy and all his friends.
