Thank you...
Deu 24:14 "You shall not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the sojourners (stranger ) who are in your land within your towns."
Deu 24:15 "You shall give him his wages on the same day, before the sun sets (for he is poor and counts on it), lest he cry against you to the LORD, and you be guilty of sin."
A friend of mine have been working and ministering to car guards in Vanderbijlpark for more than 6 years. Through his actions and testimony I have come to look at them through different eyes.
We decided to give 40 car guards each a kilogram of droëwors, saying thank you for what they do.
At our local shopping centre, there are about 20 car guards. They are from all over Africa. I met Jigga, who is the supervisor for the afternoon shift, and I tried to explain what we would like to do. “But why?” he asked… We made arrangements to meet the Friday before work so that I could hand out the packets of droëwors.
Arriving the Friday morning, some of them were already there, discussing the day and praying. This was the part I did not know about them. They had families, bills to pay, and they pray to God for guidance, forgiveness, and blessings for their families.
To each of them I gave the packet of droëwors, a hand shake, and a thank you. They were so grateful. What I got back were so many smiles and thank you’s.
