Life After Delt Life After Delt

For some people, Greek Life has been a way of life at Ohio University. This holds true for Dayton's finest, Robert Stoecklein. Robbie knew that his future after attending Centerville High School in Dayton, Ohio, and continuing to college after graduation would lead him to bigger and better things.

Graduating high school with an excellent academic standing and with plans of attending The University of Mississippi on a track scholarship, this track star was on the run towards greatness. However, due to complications during the first two weeks of his freshman year at Ole Miss, landed Stoecklein having to transfer to Ohio University the first day of the academic school year.

Upon his arrival, the outgoing and personable young man geared his interest to becoming apart of one of Ohio University's greatest traditions, Greek life. Joining the fraternity Delta Tau Delta in the fall of 2008 jump-started Robbie's social life as his brothers became his family and Ohio University his home. The new member of this well-known and respected fraternity never would have guessed that all of his fun would end in the height of his sophomore year in college journey.

The start of the 2009 fall academic school year at Ohio University meant new pledges rushing to become apart of Delta Tau Delta's 150 year tradition. Stoecklein explained why he rushed Delt and said, “ I felt like the guys in Delt weren't as forceful about rushing. They were more laid back and seemed to not live and die by the frat.” Robbie also expressed the positive influence Delt has had on his life as a student since he became a member, “Truthfully, nothing more than introduce me to my best friends at OU, give me insight on what its like to be in a fraternity, set up a great housing situation and mold me into the person I am today.”
