Library+ Digital Magazine 2017 library plus dig mag 17 | Page 2
Editor’s Note
Library+ has had another busy, successful year with increased visits yet again. We began the year with a Murder
Mystery induction which was well received by learners and teaching staff, and although it was a lot of work for
the Library+ team, it gave learners a fun and relaxed introduction to their library service.
In addition to the usual support we provide for learners and staff we also developed a series of engagement
activities linked to the tutorial programme to raise awareness of key issues that affect our learners; this opened
conversations with learners and got them to think about issues around British Values and Wellbeing.
We’re keen to develop the use of digital technologies in the College and share our good practice and have held
staff development sessions on engagement and assessment tools, such as Augmented Reality, Kahoot, electronic
reading lists and using Search+; please let us know if you’d like to explore how to use these in your teaching.
We are committed to providing the best possible learner experience and it’s great to be receive feedback from
staff and learners on whether we have met their expectations. Feedback this year includes:
‘I’m proud of our library—thank you’ ‘ Excellent support, service with a smile, nothing is too much
trouble ’ (Teaching staff)
‘I'm going to miss this library very much’ ‘Helpful all year, nothing was ever too much, thanks for all
your help’ ‘You stopped me from having an emotional breakdown - Thanks for all the help!’ (Learners)
If you have any ideas on how we can work with you and your learners, or if there’s anything in this magazine that
you’d like further information on, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’re always open to suggestions.
As you can see, Library+ is more than just books!!
