Although Uber claimed that it had employed Shiv Kumar based
on his "Character Certificate" "issued" by police, police stated that
the certificate was "fake" and lodged forgery case against the cab
driver. An FIR was registered against Uber for cheating its
customers and violating lawful orders of government. The FIR was
