GLOSSARY
LGBTQ
an acronym standing for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender queer &
questioning (more identities exist but these are the groups included in my
research)
QUEER
an umbrella term for those who are not heterosexual and/or cisgender
CISGENDER
someone who identifies with the gender that’s most socially associated with
their sex
GENDER
one’s innermost understanding of being male, female, or another gender
(gender queer, non-binary, etc.)
sex does not = gender
TRANSGENDER
a term for people who do not identify with the gender most associated with
their assigned sex
