The Southern region’s market remains less dynamic
nowadays with a very low volume of supply and
demand. Hence, the following statistics should be
interpreted with caution given the very low volume
of listings published and leads received on the
website.

Regarding properties for rent in 2018,
most listings are for houses (69%) vs
31% of apartments. Demand more or
less matches supply. Pointe d’Esny,
Blue Bay and Beau Vallon compete for
the pole position in terms of supply.
As for demand, Mahebourg takes the
third place behind the same leading
duo, followed closely by Riambel and
Beau Vallon.
The three most searched properties
are: a 3-bedroom house in Pointe
d’Esny, a 3-bedroom house in Blue Bay,
followed by a 3-bedroom apartment in
Blue Bay.
House for rent
For houses, villas and townhouses,
supply has been decreasing since
2016, and represents about 100 listings
in 2018. Demand, strongly growing, has
exceeded 250,000 searches in 2017
and 2018. More than 120 leads have

of 3 or 4-bedroom houses (48% and
33% of listings respectively). A higher
demand as compared to supply can
be observed for 3-bedroom formats
(60%), and a lower demand than
supply for 4-bedroom houses (18%).
