NEW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Patricia Powell & Craig Campbell
In 2,000 we retired and defied conventional thought by moving North from Tampa , Florida , to Natural Bridge , Virginia where we purchased what ultimately became an 80-acre farm .
Patricia retired after 35 years of corporate life and I , Captain , USN ( ret ), corporate exec and independent financial advisor ( ret ), FSA Scot , thought that having a farm would keep us busy and in shape . However , we didn ’ t count on being drafted into volunteer Fire / EMS where as EMT ’ s we ran medical calls in the south part of Rockbridge County for 18 years .
Two years ago , work on the farm began to be spelled with a capital “ W ” so we sold it and have moved to The Greens for some welcome rest and relaxation . Instead of puttering in the garden we look forward to putting on the golf course . But just to keep our hands in the EMS field , as members of the Lexington Fire Department we will continue to teach CPR for the city .
We have met several members and appreciate the warm welcome we received . We are happy to be new members of LGCC and look forward to becoming involved with the club community .
