Chromebooks Available for Checkout at All Arlington Public Library Locations
Need a laptop on loan ?
The Arlington Public Library first made Chromebooks available at the East Library and Recreation Center in September 2021 as part of an initiative to help close the digital divide in our community . Today , more than 200 Chromebooks are available across all library locations in The American Dream City . Users can check out and take home a device for 30 days with an adult library card in good standing . Since 2021 , patrons have checked out Chromebooks more than 2,080 times .
Learn more Library policy regarding the devices below :
• Only one device can be checked out at a time .
• Devices will not be autorenewed but can be checked out multiple times depending on availability .
• Patrons can reference our Quick Guide to get basic usage information .
• All items should be returned at the same time . These will be inspected by staff for any damage before removing items from the patron ’ s account .
• Each Chromebook comes with a cover , a carrying case and shoulder strap , and a power cord .
• Laptops and chargers not returned will incur a replacement charge .
• Damaged items are also subject to the replacement cost charges .

CITY OF ARLINGTON ’ S CITIBOT CHATBOT NOW ABLE TO COMMUNICATE IN MORE THAN 70

Have a question about trash and recycling pickup , permits , pets , potholes or how to find the closest pickleball court ? Citibot , a chatbot available at ArlingtonTX . gov , now allows users to report an issue or find information about City of Arlington services , programs and ordinances in more than 70 languages .
Users can find the multi-language web chat feature on the bottom right section of the City ’ s homepage on both desktop and mobile devices . Clicking the icon launches Citibot ’ s chat window , prompting residents to enter their questions in the language of their choice , including Spanish , Vietnamese , Chinese , French and Filipino .
Citibot ’ s text messaging service is also available to mobile users . Residents can start a conversation in a variety of languages by texting Hello to 855-950-4110 . From there , they can report issues in the community , such as stray animals , litter , or burnt-out streetlights , or seek information such as how to sign up for a library card , book tee time at a city golf course or reserve a park pavilion for a party . Users who sign up can also receive alerts about city services and events , such as weather-related closures .
Partnership with Citibot launched in early 2020 and Arlington is the largest city in Texas to offer this service feature for residents .
