4 Introduction to Food Safety In this first session we will look at some of the terminology used in food safety and start to explore the topic of food poisoning. There are many reasons that food needs to be prepared, cooked and served in a catering environment. It can be part of an evenings enjoyment, a works canteen, a school kitchen or, it could be a necessity, as in a hospital environment.
