Slide Extraction from Seats
This will be covered over pages 24 - 27
In this manoeuvre one handler supports the casualties head while
another handler places a slide sheet on the floor in front of the
casualty.
In pictures 2, the handlers then gently place the casualty’s legs
under the seat slightly as the casualty is next going to be brought
down into a kneeling position.
Note in Picture 3 that as the casualty is brought forwards to transfer
onto his knees, the handler behind the casualty supporting his head
and neck has then placed the casualty’s head and neck against the
other handler’s shoulder and neck.
By passing the role of supporting the casualty onto the handler this
allows the two handler’s on the floor to take charge of supporting
and lowering the casualty to the ground, safely onto the slide sheet.
