Support to Rise from a Chair
See in picture 1 and 2, one handler gets a solid foot position, and a
firm hold of the handling belt. There is a handler at either side of
the casualty, to support him as he takes hold of the handling belt.
Then direct the casualty to stand after a handler taking the lead
says ready, steady, stand. Make sure to check the casualty is
ready before beginning. Also remember, you are assisting and
supporting, and not physically lifting.
Support to Sit
Again with a solid foot position (Picture 1 & 2), direct the casualty to
move his hands from the support of the chair, to the handling belt.
