NJCL Alumni Assocation

If you have any ideas on what initiatives the JCLAA should take or membership perks, please reach out! Next year will be an exciting time for the JCL and I’m excited to be a part of it with y’all! Goodbye and valete!

If you were at Nationals or on social media around that same time, you were probably blasted with information about the NJCL Alumni Association (JCLAA). Very many of you filled out the interest form, so thanks for that. Every response is extremely helpful as we continue to build this new association and if you expressed interest in a leadership position, we’ll be reaching out soon!

Because I got a lot of questions over the differences between JCLAA and SCL, I wanted to clear up some of the confusion. Even though the JCLAA and SCL both involve alumni of JCL, the JCLAA aims to be more wide reaching, capturing those that have slipped through the cracks. Everyone from those who have been out of touch with JCL for decades to those who just graduated but maybe aren’t sure how they want to stay involved. New members will be asked how they still want to be involved and if volunteering at conventions is their answer, we’ll point them towards the SCL, both local chapters and Nationals.

Please stay tuned for more information! Letter of the Leagues will be one of our go-to sources for updates. Otherwise, stay on the look out for new social media pages.

The SCL will be a pivotal avenue for the Alumni Association and I’m looking forward to working with the NSCL Board and committees. There’s still a lot of work to be done as we are figuring out how the JCLAA can best serve the Junior Classical League.
