Lets Talk: BIG May 2013 | Page 5

BIG or Small; Why does it Matter?

Why does size matter? It is nothing but a number on a scale. The world needs variety and size is one of the many ways variety is offered. Do you think skinny people have it easier? I am not talking about average sizes, I am talking about the women and men who have as hard of a time keeping weight on as BIG people have keeping it off. As many health problems as a large person can have, a skinny person can or does have. According to a Discovery Health article titled, "5 Health Problems Caused by Being Too Thin" (2013), Skinny people are at high risk for any or all of the following: Heart disease; diabetes; lowered immune systems; cancer; anemia; fertility issues; Osteoporosis; and broken bones. All those problems sound pretty familiar don't they? In all reality skinny and BIG have a larger connection than many know. So why the big feud between the sizes? Jealousy, fear, and not taking the time to fully understand each other are common factors that can be changed starting with YOU![]
