BIG: What is your profession?
Dave: I am a Massage Therapist, Public/Motivational Speaker (Specializing in Size Acceptance and Positive Awareness).
BIG: Are you single?
Dave: Yes, I am single.
BIG: Why do you like BIG women?
Dave:Why I like a bigger girl is their confidence. I like the way she carries herself, her beauty, shape and size. My dad taught me growing up it's the person's character, the way they conduct themselves, and how they treat people. The body is a shell, which changes over time. A person's traits and qualities are most important. My friends didn't understand my attraction. They teased me, made fun of me and I felt alienated. Yet, I never waived in my choice in liking a bigger girl.
BIG: In what ways do you support and contribute to the BIG (men and women) community?
Dave: On occasion I'd take the time and effort to email (privately) or on social media (publicly) some encouraging words. I believe a few encouraging words can not only acknowledge a person's efforts, but also validate, and change their life in a positive way.
I've dedicated my own website to self empowerment.
BIG: Why have you chosen to teach classes and run a website that helps educate and encourage people in the BIG Community?
Dave: To demonstrate how life can be, could be, and should be. We've all had our disappointments, failures, and set backs. Yet, those events shouldn't define who we are as a person. The Declaration of Independence says, the pursuit of happiness. Not to settle on hatred and mediocrity.
BIG: What would you like to say to the readers of Lets Talk: BIG magazine?
Dave: It takes just as much energy to be negative that it does to be positive. It's all about your mindset. Where the mind goes, the body will follow. You create you're own reality. Good, bad, or indifferent. You may not be able to control your environment like you'd like, but you can control your reaction to it.
BIG: Where can people go to learn more about the work you do for the BIG Community?
Dave: My website diamanddave.com is a great way to get to know who I am, what I stand for, and what I'm all about.
