It seems likely that , at least initially , flying car owners would need a special license or training , similar to a pilot ’ s license , until advancements in AI make vehicles more autonomous . This brings us to another issue : the integration of flying cars into existing airspace . ATC systems , which currently control commercial aviation , would need significant upgrades to accommodate thousands of small , individually-owned flying vehicles .
An automatic communication system within flying cars could be a potential solution , allowing them to safely navigate without overwhelming the air traffic controllers .
While we are still far from widespread use of flying cars , solutions and ideas are being explored to make this future a reality . Companies and researchers are working together to ensure that flying cars are safe and efficient when they do enter the market .
Though we may not be able to predict all the challenges they ’ ll bring , it ’ s clear that flying cars will have a major impact on how we think about transportation . The idea of flying cars might have just seemed like something from a movie , but development is rapidly moving from concept to reality . Looking at the road we ’ re on now , the future of travel could very well include flying cars , and with the right planning , they could revolutionize the way we get from place to place .
