With an emphasis on project-based learning , there are science classes that put you in the shoes of a flight test engineer , investigating the relationships between planes and the sky . Students even take field trips to professional flight simulators that pilots around the nation use to improve their skills .
Raisbeck also connects students with internships that give real-world experience . One such student is junior Hudson Hall , an intern at Signature Aviation .
“ I get to be out on the ramp with airplanes and I ’ ve been getting to marshal them , [ which is ] like directing them to their parking spots ,” said Hall . “ I ’ ve been getting more experience around airplanes and I ’ m getting a lot of connections . I think it ’ s a lot of fun .”
