A field trip to space or to the bottom of the sea with no permission slips required ? This is the promise of Boeing FUTURE U . a partnership between Boeing and Discovery Education . FUTURE U . gives middle and high school students , educators , and families the opportunity to meet real aerospace professionals and learn about the vast possibilities to use Science , Technology , Engineering , and Mathematics ( STEM ) skills on land , in the air , or even out in space !
There are a number of Future U . videos , activities , and even virtual reality immersive experiences to explore . Start with the Virtual Field Trips to different Boeing sites with a student host exploring topics ranging from Boeing ’ s sustainability to the building of the Starliner capsule . See the next generation of STEM leaders talk with the current generation of STEM professionals about their work at Boeing .
Virtual Site Tours - provide a deeper view of what certain Boeing sites and facilities do . For example , go behind the scenes where the 787 Dreamliner is built in Charleston , South Carolina or see where solar panels are manufactured at Boeing subsidiary Spectrolab in Los Angeles , California . Follow along afterwards with the Boeing South Carolina Dreamlearner ’ s activity by building a paper airplane as a team , or choose the ice racing activity challenging you to harness solar energy .
