Dr . Kimberly Robinson is the CEO of the U . S . Space & Rocket Center . She said , “ 14 astronauts have come through our gates . Space Camp has people in the halls of every space business today .”
What happens at Space Camp ( stays at Space Camp )
Okay , smarty pants , so you are interested in Space Camp ! First , you should know that there are different varieties :
• Space Camp – The ultimate educational experience combining real-world applications of science , technology , engineering , and mathematics . Space Camp is for ages 9-11 . Space Academy is for ages 12-14 and has more hands-on work . Advanced Space Academy is for ages 15-18 and includes more direct career planning . There is also a Family Space Academy if your whole family wants to join in !
• Aviation Challenge – Combining critical thinking , teamwork , and leadership training in a six-day aviation-themed adventure .
• Space Camp Robotics – Ideas become a reality using robotic technologies to create engineering solutions for real-world problems .
• U . S . Cyber Camp – Learn the ethics and responsibilities of data security for safeguarding networks and the challenge of expanding the internet of things ( IoT ).
Going to Huntsville to participate in one of these camps is fun . Dr . Robinson said , “ First , it is fun ! You are going to have a wonderful time . It can be scary to be away from home . It can be awkward initially , but you will make friends from across the country – and it will open up your world .”
She said one important thing to know is that when you are planning to come , they provide help at the airport to greet you when you arrive . You will feel welcomed , and you will not be alone .
