“Tom, wait!” someone called his name.

Before he got a chance to see the face, somebody was holding his wallet. A ray of sun was playing in her hair. Something was glittering there. He had a closer look – it was a pin. It looked familiar as if he had seen it somewhere before:

“Jessica?”

“Hey, it’s me, Margo! I’ve been looking for you! Here, you’ve dropped your wallet.”

She looked so similar to Jessica. “Are the shadows of the past following me again..?” he wondered. “The dark long hair, the dimples, the green eyes, the same brown birthmark on her wrist that looked like Australia. Ah… now I recall Jessica’s words about her half-sister having an identical birthmark.”

“Thank you”, he took the wallet. “I owe you a cup of coffee now!”

They walked to a nearby café and found the most remote table, right behind the corner, so they could converse about the song.

“I’ll go and order it”, volunteered Tom. “What coffee would you like?”

“Pumpkin spice with some coconut milk, a pinch of cinnamon and a teaspoon of brown sugar, please.”

“Just as Jessica’s favorite… No. I won’t get her out of my mind”, gloomy thoughts were spinning in his head as he was walking towards the bar. While the bartender was busy brewing the coffee, there was news on TV. “Boring as always”, Tom
