Ann, a 40- year old woman, lived alone in a little shabby cottage near the forest. Just recently, her husband Mark went there to bring home some wood for the fireplace but he never came back. It was a couple of weeks ago. Ann reported to the police what had happened but they never found Mark’s body. They just said that he was probably dead and stopped searching. Ann and Mark had a son called Jack who left England when he was 19. Poor woman still believed that her husband was alive so she didn’t say anything to Jack. She knew that eventually, sooner or later, she would have to tell him all about this. Ann had no other choice. On the other hand, she didn’t know how her son would react to everything and she didn’t want Jack to worry. During the few weeks since Mark's disappearance, Ann felt devastated. She stopped eating; she was just lying in bed, staring through the window.
