living CONTRIBUTORS Belinda Crowson The world is full of stories but many are hidden or little known. Belinda loves to discover the stories of Lethbridge and Southern Alberta and share them with as many people as possible – and Southern Alberta has some incredible stories that Belinda, a historian, teacher and storyteller, is honoured to tell. Eric Dyck Eric is a cartoonist and art educator living in Lethbridge. He has shared his love of cartoons and comic-storytelling in art galleries, museums, schools, and libraries throughout Alberta and New Brunswick. Eric and his wife moved to Lethbridge in 2013, and since then he has been documenting his experiences and adventures in Southern Alberta through his webcomic, Slaughterhouse Slough. Eric uses his webcomic to share about the people that he meets and the stories that he hears, and as a means of learning more about the history of his new home. Jay Herrington Jay is relatively new to Southern Alberta. Having been raised near Saint John, NB, he is no stranger to the small-town feel that comes with living and working in Lethbridge. In the radio business since 1993, Jay spent most of his career as a broadcast journalist in Ontario working for the legendary CHUM group along with stints with Astral Media, Bell Media, and Corus Entertainment. For Jay and his wife Adele, the move to Lethbridge in 2014 was an easy choice to make with family in Kelowna, Medicine Hat, and Salt Lake City, Utah. A father of two preschoolers, Jay often finds himself trying to nap unsuccessfully on the couch. He is one half of The Bridge Breakfast with Jay and Corlee, weekday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Lethbridge’s home for Modern Hit Music, 98.1 The Bridge. 08 LETHBRIDGELIVING.COM JUL-AUG 2017
