Project rationale

Because we are becoming increasingly less observant of our surroundings, less respectful towards Nature, students and teachers from seven schools in Europe have been encouraged to observe their immediate environment from many points of view. It´s been possible to appreciate that a seemingly insignificant piece of land holds a wealth of information. We´ve been learning about the history of the Earth and also about the history of European civilization. Not only geological formations have become the subject of our research, but also man- made consctructions whose story is leading us on a discovery of significant historical moments in time. The project is a bridge which will enable us to travel from the present to the past, and then towards the future. Fascinating journeys can take place not only in space but also in time .

International mobilities

Indispensable part of Comenius projects are international mobilities. Students and teachers intent on searching for geotopes, geosites, ecomuseums, historic stone constructions and ruins, places where primeval cults were practiced, fortifications and harbours. In those places they are looking for all the relative information. The most interesting part of it is visiting places personally.
