We’re deciding to love winter again
W
henever Lake Erie LifeStyle features an
“embrace winter” theme, it gets some great
responses. In 2015, a die-hard Erie septuagenarian, who proudly maintains his career
here even when the snow flies, thanked the magazine for
featuring folks who enjoy all things winter. He related that
he and his family love the cold and snow. It makes him cringe
when his friends and others sing the praises of being snowbirds and hating the months from December to March.
We decided to love winter again this year at Lake Erie LifeStyle. Of course, as I write this, we’ve enjoying balmy 60- to
70-degree days. And to bring even more heat to these pages, I
remember in December 2015, we celebrated the holidays with
the patio doors open. It was an extraordinarily warm December. But the month had a mix of snow flurries as well.
Last December was also my declaration to love winter,

I might just do it all again. And now that the grandkids are

into winter, the littler ones might just want to build snowmen, but they might lace up some skates and hit a rink or pond with me. I know one little
grandgirl who thinks I’m pretty cool no matter what the weather. Miss Mia Parker has named
me Pamma Montana and Pamma Jamma.
If I fall on that ice, I hear a Pamma Bamma coming my way.
Let’s embrace winter!
