W arm fuzzy mittens, hot cider with cloves, swirling, crystalline snow, new moon shadows on a wintry landscape ... these are a few favorite wintertime things. The season is upon us, and here are some tips from local experts about how to stay healthy, warm and safe this winter season. Wrap yourself up in winter-warm gear and embrace the season with an appetite for living large. HOT IDEAS FOR COLD-WEATHER GEAR Alex Mongera, ski shop manager at Peek'n Peak Resort, says one of her hottest sellers is the Obermeyer or Spyder down insulator jacket. Versatile and comfortable, this popular all-season jacket with clean styling lines can be worn as a base layer under a shell for warmth in deep winter or by itself in the spring or early winter. Colorful Burton headbands with dry ride spandex warmth are also selling fast.
