This legend was written by Robert F. McLaughlin and edited by Brian J. Lobao. It is a story
based upon historical research on American Indians that lived in New England for thousands of years before the settlement of Europeans. Multiple sources were used in the
creation of this story.
It is not a story written by American Indians. Further we understand that most of the
historical record on New England Indians was written by white Europeans.
It is a morality story based in American history of a great people who lived upoon and loved
the land, which many of us now call home.
