Board president Julie Piggott offered encouraging remarks to nearly 100 young men and women in attendance whose enthusiasm for Lena Pope was palpable. Courtney Summers, Chair, and Allison Miller, Vice-Chair, then offered personal accounts of their experiences serving on the Steering Committee and participating in the YPA Pen Pal program. Several guests became YPA members almost immediately, eager to make a difference in the lives of children and families in the community and be part of such a dynamic group.
