D Staff Celebrates five- to 40-year Anniversaries! irector’s Page As the “dog days” of summer begin to draw to a close, we all begin to look forward to the fall when the air will be (at least a little) cooler, a new year of school begins, and, at Lena Pope, we begin a new fiscal year. The new fiscal year brings much excitement to our mission – construction of a new building to Todd A. Landry, Executive Director support the work we do with children and families has begun. This new building will enable us to expand our mission to serve more children and families and help create more hope, happiness, and success in our community. Without the dedicated staff and volunteers of Lena Pope, our mission would not be possible. We give thanks every day to the people who make it happen. One shining example is Shnease Webb. Shnease celebrates her 40th year with Lena Pope in 2013 – forty years of working to make sure that Mrs. Pope’s legacy of service lives on. Shnease started with the agency in 1973 as a receptionist/administrative assistant working with foster care and adoption. She knew she wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and Lena Pope Home was a logical fit. Over the years, Shnease has served in many roles, including social service coordinator, intake coordinator, director of quality assurance, and associate executive director. She continued her education, earning her MBA from TCU. Since 2005, Shnease has served as the Chief Operating Officer for Lena Pope, with a primary focus on human resources, risk management, and facilities.
