SISTERS HAVE GOT BU BIBELOT B usiness has gone from strength to strength, since sisters Liz and Sophie Cox moved their business ‘Bibelot’ to its current location in Sheepmarket in Leek. Since the move in November 2011 the pair have been running a variety of craft workshops and set up a large haberdashery and craft room on the first floor of their shop. They also offer children’s drop-in craft workshops and Lego building competitions in the school holidays and on the first Sunday of each month when they are open as part of Totally Locally’s Sunday Supplement. Now due to demand the sisters have expanded the workshops to include children’s and adult’s craft parties including hen parties and baby showers. The party packages offer a fun way to celebrate a special occasion in a beautiful creative environment; learn a new skill and take home your lovely handmade goodies to treasure forever! Speaking to Leek Life Liz said: “We were really excited to be able to add craft party packages to our list of activities, since holding our first party a number of months ago the feedback we have had has been fantastic.” Bibelot opened in 2009 in a small unit in Getliffes Yard in Leek. It was set up by sisters Liz and Sophie who after running a market stall on the 18 Leek Life November/December 2013 town’s very own trestle market and building up a loyal customer base decided to take the plunge and open a shop. The pair quickly outgrew the small shop and in 2011 after an extensive renovation of their new premises moved to their current location – No. 2, Sheepmarket. Bibelot sells a large range of bags and accessories, haberdashery, homeware, toys and gifts and is the area’s only authorised Cath Kidston stockist. They also sell a range of locally handmade items including beautiful cards from ‘Laura Sherratt Designs.’ The upstairs haberdashery and craft room opened in May 2012 in the smaller of the two first floor rooms. Due to demand, in March of this year the sisters decided to move the haberdashery and workshops into the larger of the two rooms, giving them room to expand their product ranges and offer more space for the workshops. This move has also enabled them to now expand into craft parties and offer even more workshops than before. It has also meant that a job vacancy opened up and the sisters took on their first part time member of staff. Sophie explained: “We had really positive feedback since the room change from both customers and workshop leaders with [?H???H??B???????[????\??Y\???????[??H?? ??'B??
