WEDDINGS ® both the couple and their friends and family who helped out. From Sam making and decorating her own wedding cake and picking out the material for her bridesmaid dresses to Richard sourcing and preparing the large wooden centre pieces for the tables, it had truly been a team effort well worth all the hard work on the day. Samantha looked stunning in a vintage inspired cream lace gown which was set off beautifully by white and cream antique roses in a unique hand tied bouquet made by family friend Marj Potts who put together all the floral arrangements on the day. The bridesmaids held smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet which included an unusual succulent cactus plant which Samantha had sourced herself adding a splash of colour to match the bridesmaids dresses and the men’s ties who were suitably countryfied in dark grey tweed style suits which were set off with brown brogue shoes. The couple, who before buying a home together spent six months backpacking around Australia, New Zealand and America have made their marital home on Ladderage in Leek. They tied the knot just under 12 months after Richard popped the question to Sam in Matlock Bath at the annual illuminations, a spot close to both their hearts after they shared their first date together there years previously. The couple’s dog Fern, a West Highland White terrier even made an appearance at the farm in Ipstones on the morning of the wedding while Sam was having her hair and makeup done, sneaking onto a couple of the photographs which were expertly captured on the day by professional photographer Geoff Young. Following what both the new Mr and Mrs Carrington described as ‘the best day of their lives’, Sam and Rich jetted off to the exotic location of the Maldives for their honeymoon and a well deserved rest.
