LEEK AND DISTRICT SHOW SPONSORSHIP
town is ‘united’ when it comes
to Show’s main sponsor
eek United Building Society is proud to
announce that it will be the main sponsor of this
year’s Leek and District Show.
The Society has been a regular supporter of the
area’s premier agricultural event for many years
but now, its links with Leek Show have been
further strengthened for what is to be the biggest
and best local highlight of the summer, as part of a
three-year sponsorship agreement.
Speaking to Leek Life President and Show
Director Derek Torr said: “It’s marvellous that the
town’s principal building society has become our
main sponsor – it couldn’t be better!
“The show has always been for and about the
people of Leek and the surrounding areas, and
Leek United’s sponsorship and support is entirely
fitting; the show can only improve and grow from
here.”
Leek United’s distinctive green and white
hospitality marquee is already a familiar sight at
the annual show, where it is a popular refreshment
destination for visitors.
Chief Executive Kevin Wilson added: “We are
absolutely delighted to be the main sponsors of
L
Leek Show. The community is at the heart of all we
do at Leek United, and there is no better event than
this to bring families and businesses together in
our heartland.
“We very much look forward to working with
Derek and his committee to ensure that this year’s
show is the best ever.”
Leek and District Show 2014 takes place on
Saturday, 26th July at its traditional venue, the
Birchall Playing Fields on the outskirts of Leek’s
town centre.
In addition to agricultural and horticultural
competitions, a whole fun-packed programme of
entertainment is being planned, including stunt
acts, falconry displays, show stands, arts and crafts
and much more.
