GR8SK8
e’ for continued future success
‘Dancing on Inlines’, where skaters worked in
pairs to create a dance routine, performing their
moves to a set piece of music each week which
was then judged by GR8SK8 staff members with
one of them commenting that the dance routines
were ‘amazing’, especially considering that some
of the participants had not skated before last
June.
A new volunteer has also been welcomed to
the club, Ellie Emberson, who has been using her
experience at the skating club to count towards
her Duke of Edinburgh Award. This will also help
to develop her skills for work and life and Ellie
has become a valuable and greatly appreciated
member of the team.
Hopefully the club can continue to be
sustainable for the foreseeable future. Over the
past twelve months Clare and Mark have been
able to reinvest in the club due to the monies
taken along with a number of generous and
invaluable donations received by way of support
by Staffordshire Moorlands District Councillors
Brian Johnson, John Povey and Darren Price
through their Community Initiative Funds.
Speaking to Leek Life organiser Mark added:
"The goal was to provide a fun and family
orientated event for families like our own where
both children and their parents can spend some
quality time in a fun and safe environment.
“We are very proud to say that this is what we
have achieved and are also proud of all of our
daughters Charlotte, Katie and Aimee for their
involvement in the project.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks
to everyone who has helped us and above all,
thanks to the local community for supporting us
by attending the sessions.”
