TICKETS are now on sale for one of the biggest dates in the Staffordshire Moorlands calendar, the 2013 Britannia Leek and District Show which takes place on Saturday 27th July.
The show this year celebrates its 51st anniversary at Birchall playing fields and once again expects to attract thousands of visitors for one of the county ' s largest one-day agricultural shows.
After a very successful event last year, organisers are gearing up for an even bigger and better event this year with even more fun things for visitors and their families to see and do than ever before.
An impressive range of livestock classes, competitions, trade stands and other attractions have been lined up, not to mention some very exciting main arena acts.
After months of hard work, the organising committee are now making final arrangements for what promises to be another excellent day.
Main arena entertainment includes the jaw dropping Stannage International Stunt Team, who will be
8 Leek Life July / August 2013 performing two 45 minute displays throughout the day. The father and son team of Mark and Aaron Stannage is guaranteed to generate great excitement as they take to the arena to present their ' Amazing Flaming High Dive ' where Mark climbs up a specially constructed tower, dowses himself in flammable liquid and sets himself on fire before diving headfirst into the air bag 60 feet below, followed by the ' Spectacular High Fall Show ' in which Mark and his family will entertain the audience with their amazing and spectacular High Fall and Motorbike display, with all the commentary provided by wife Janine.
More skills will be on show in the main ring courtesy of the English School of Falconry who will also perform two different 20 minute stunning shows throughout the day. Catch the amazing team in action with their free flying American Bald Eagles, African Fish Eagle, falcons, hawks and owls, accompanied by a lighthearted running commentary providing facts about the birds.
