Summer at Stafford

Performed under the stars at Stafford Castle, Stafford Festival Shakespeare returns on June 27th for it’ s 23rd year with Shakespeare’ s most loved comedy, A Midsummer Night’ s Dream. Delve into the fantastical world of the Fairy King and Queen as two confused couples stumble into the forest to clear their heads and mend their hearts. Lead by returning Director Peter Rowe and an award winning creative team, this is set to be the highlight of the summer. With Eric Potts taking on the role of Bottom the show is set to delight and entertain an audience of all ages. The Lewis Partnership are back, offering exciting pre-theatre dining options, from a four course meal in the fine dining marquee to mouth watering deli platters. The show opens on June 27th and runs to July 13th, with tickets starting at just £ 10.

Get ready to rock‘ n’ roll with the nation’ s favourite variety show That’ ll Be The Day, staged open air in the beautiful surroundings of Stafford Castle. This hugely entertaining rock ' n ' roll spectacular features a one off line-up of knock-out hits from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Tickets for this one off performance at Stafford Castle on Sunday 7th July start from £ 18.
A brand new comedy play at the Gatehouse Theatre on Wednesday 17th July with Cissie and Ada, An Hysterical Rectomy. The immortal comic characters created by the late, great Les Dawson, aided and abetted by Roy Barraclough, grace the Gatehouse theatre stage for the first time in this hilarious new play. Written by playwright Graham Warrener in collaboration with original Cissie and Ada scriptwriter Terry Ravenscroft, Cissie and Ada revisits the story and the culture behind the sidesplitting sketches and that of BBC Light Entertainment in the 80 ' s as well as bringing Dawson and Barraclough ' s comedy genius back to life. Two former Coronation Street favourites Eric Potts( Diggory) and Steven Arnold( Ashley) join Steve Nallon( famous for his Mrs Thatcher impersonation live and on seminal satirical TV show Spitting Image) and actress Natasha Magigi are directed by John Jackson Almond.
