THE JOHN POINTON SPORTS & RECREATION FACILITY OSITY DELIVERS A REATION LEGACY The facility has been really well received and is a great asset not only for Cheddleton but for the wider community as a whole who can come up here any time seven days a week and enjoy what there is to offer, and best of all its all for free At present John is the only employed member of the staff at the facility but that doesn’t seem to have stopped him from well and truly getting stuck in by organising a whole host of activities and helping to get a number of groups up and running from the Felthouse Lane base. So far the community have been visiting the ground in their droves whether it be parents and grandparents making the most of the play equipment with their kids, to walkers and runners of all ages, kids on their scooters and skateboards to training sessions with various local football and sports teams, even a new Boules team has been set up, it has been a real hive of activity. John commented that things have only been going from strength to strength so far with a Halloween trick or treat event already taken place, frequent visits from Santa at Christmas and the pavilion seeing plenty of use by community groups and clubs, the local Rainbows being one example. “I am expecting this year to be phenomenal. The facility has been really well received and is a great asset not only for Cheddleton but for the wider community as a whole who can come up here any time seven days a week and enjoy what there is to offer, and best of all its all for free.” For any enquiries into booking a 3G pitch or use of the pavilion changing rooms pop up and see John at the facility any week day between 9am and 5pm.
