Hello Readers... And welcome to the September issue of the Ledbury Focus. With all the rain we’ve had recently, the garden is looking lovely, but everything is growing like crazy and with my husband still out of commission (after his recently surgery) I’ve taken over as resident gardener! And that, let me tell you, could be a recipe for disaster! A green thumb I do not have - in fact, I’ve been known to kill plants just by touching them! Yesterday I tackled the front hedge which was beginning to look like a triffid (for the John Wyndham fans) and I managed to wield the hedge trimmer quite successfully without damaging either myself or anything else. Last week I dug up the front lawn (a somewhat pretentious name for a pocket-handkerchief piece of grass), with a rotovator - intentionally I might add – and miraculously I still have both feet! Next on the list are a couple of trees that need pruning, so keep your fingers crossed for me that I manage to accomplish this without falling off the ladder.
