War
Eighty years after the start of the Second World
War, author Bill Laws looks at life on the Home
Front: Land Army girls and Timber Jills, Ledbury’s
POWs and Rotherwas’ Canaries, homesick
evacuees, and finding a fitting uniform! Books will
be available to buy on the night. Tickets £4

While John Masefield was away at sea, his younger
brother Harry travelled East, becoming a tea planter
in Sri Lanka. Caroline Magnus, Harry’s
granddaughter, tells Harry’s story from his Ledbury
childhood and relationship with the poet, to his life
