For dogs we use plug-in diffusers called Adaptil
or Pet Remedy which need to be applied at least a
few days before the firework season.

For cats a very effective pheromone de-stress aid
is Feliway diffuser which is also a plug-in or
spray; they also respond to Pet remedy.

We also have numerous calming agents such as:
Zylkene and Calmex which are very beneficial if
used in plenty of time, but in severe cases some
sedation or anti-anxiety medication may be
indicated, but this is usually a last resort.
Also a quick reminder if you are having a bonfire:
don't forget to check for hedgehogs!
Whilst on the topic of wildlife, pictured below is a
Manx Shearwater (with the fabulous scientific name
of puffinus puffinus!) who appeared a couple of
weeks ago in our carpark, presumably blown off
course on his way from the coast to South America.
This little fellow has gone to Vale Wildlife in
Beckford to recuperate - thanks Vale!
