THE SCHOOL YEAR IS OFF TO A ROARING START AT LBS!
he start of the 2025 – 26 school year has been exciting at Lebanon Borough School. Each day,
T our halls are filled with the energy of students eager to learn and staff committed to nurturing their growth. As always, we are guided by our motto,“ Better Together,” which reflects the strength of our small, close-knit community.
This year, we proudly introduced a new mission statement that captures our vision: Helping every child reach their full potential through academic growth, critical thinking, and strong partnerships among students, staff, families, and the community. This mission underscores our belief that when we work together, every child benefits.
We have also launched our Move More, Screen Less initiative, inspired by our staff’ s book study of The Anxious Generation. This program emphasizes outdoor learning, physical activity, and meaningful face-to-face connections. Plans are underway to create an outdoor classroom space and students are already engaging in activities designed to balance technology use with healthy, active learning.
While the state’ s Preschool Expansion Aid program has shifted to a cost-sharing model, making it financially difficult for small districts, Lebanon Borough School remains committed to early learning. This year, we continue to provide one fullday, tuition-free preschool class, ensuring our youngest learners have a strong foundation. The board will revisit this topic later in the year as we plan for the future.
We are also excited to welcome new staff members: Ms. Lindsay Stout( Art-starting in October), Mrs. Heather Manning( Grade 3), and Ms. Jacqueline Lewis( Paraprofessional). Each brings unique talents that will enrich our school community.
Finally, school safety remains a top priority. From monthly drills to updated arrival and dismissal procedures, as well as close collaboration with the New Jersey State Police and our borough crossing guards, we are working to provide a safe and nurturing environment for every student.
We are grateful for the continued support of our families and community partners. Together, we look forward to a school year filled with growth, discovery, and success.
Better Together, Bruce R. Arcurio, Ed. D.
