English and Maths
Free courses for adults!
York Learning run daytime and evening sessions at various venues across the city
and throughout the year. Following a one to one assessment to discuss your needs,
you’ll join one of our friendly groups and, using local and real-life resources, you
will be guided by expert tutors towards nationally recognised adult qualifications.
GCSE - A-C grades are required for many jobs and for
access to several further/higher education options including
childcare level 3, nursing or PGCE.
Move On - Level 1 and 2 Functional Skills qualifications for
employment, to return to learning or to prepare for further/
higher education, apprenticeships and GCSE.
Get On - Entry 2-3 English and Maths qualifications to brush
up on the basics and gain confidence.
Get Started - Basic reading, writing or maths skills for those
who may need additional support.
ESOL - English for Speakers of Other Languages courses run in the city centre and at Acomb
Explore. Charges may apply to these courses, depending on status.
Courses for the Workplace - If you’re an employer or you would like to arrange courses in
your workplace, give us a call and we’ll see what we can do.
GCSE English and Maths Courses - From September to June and are always very popular.
Information and assessment days will run from April 2017 so to give yourself the best chance
of reserving a place, please book in early. We also take private candidates for a number of
GCSE subjects. Details of courses and how to book your assessments are on www.yortime.
