Advanced Learner
Advanced learner loans are available for anyone
19+ and over and are designed to support you
studying certain qualifications at level 3, 4, 5 and
6. We can advise you as to which qualifications
are available. Learning loans are similar to the loan
you would take out for a University Degree and
similar rules apply about when and how you pay it
back.
Will I be eligible for a loan?
Most people over 19 will be eligible for a loan even
if you already have a student loan for a degree.
Your household income will not be taken into
account, nor is there a credit check to complete.
You will begin paying back your loan once you are
earning £21,000.

English, Maths and ICT
Good skills in English, maths and computers are
now an essential requirement for work, to help you
get a place at college or university and to support
many day to day activities including social media
and budgeting. To learn more about our English,
maths and computer courses or to chat about
what you need, please book an appointment with
one of our advisers on 01904 554277.
GCSE English and Maths
Courses are available both during the day
and in the evening. They require a high level
of commitment to complete the qualification
in 10 months. If you are interested in GCSE
maths or English, then you need to attend for
an assessment. We also have GCSE information
sessions and online resources to support you in
preparing for your GCSE. To book an asseement
please ring 01904 554277.
We run a number of programmes for people
who are currently out of work. Our approach
is to support people in all three essential job
hunting skills; getting your CV right, making a job
application and preparing for an interview. We
have a fantastic record of supporting people into
work and we believe you will not get any better
support within the city. Our integrated programmes
are led by people who really understand the jobs
market, understand the barriers people face getting
into work and are able to work with individuals
to maximise their chances of getting a job. For
information on our “Getting into Work” offer
please ring 01904 554277.
