on the New York state frontier. We’ll
explore the novels (The Pioneers,

Prairie, The Pathfinder, and The
Deerslayer) and the main character,
Natty Bumppo, who is known by
various names depending on the
novel. We’ll also learn about what
was happening in Cooper’s life while
he was writing these stories.
